My Book! Shadow Puppets

My first book is officially finished and published and I'm feeling so many different types of ways. I have all kinds of friends and family members congratulating me, saying how proud they are of me. I feel weird because I don't really feel as though writing this book was really a grand accomplishment. I am proud of myself that I got it done, but it isn't a novel or anything, and it's only 50 pages like I just really feel undeserving of all the praise. On top of that, I myself, haven't even seen the book in person, so I'm not sure what it even looks like in hand. There may be kinks in it. I guess I'm just nervous that it isn't going to live up to the expectations of people. But I also feel really excited to have it in my hands and have others hold it in their hands.

So many of these poems, I've been holding onto for so long, and releasing them out into the world feels very liberating. I feel as though I've set them free and now they belong to the world and I no longer hold them on my shoulders. That was the most important part of writing this book. Not harboring these thoughts any longer. I hope in the future to write many more books and improve my craft as far as formatting and artistry are concerned. One thing that won't change is my love for words and telling stories.

I'm so grateful to everyone who bought the book or just has encouraged me in any way shape or form. It just makes me feel like maybe I am doing something a little bit right in my life.
