Today...
I'm blogging this today because I can't find my journal. Who looses their journal? Me! I've gotten in to the habit of slapping pen to paper every morning when I drink coffee. It's like I can't have one with out the other. This week, it's been thrown off a little though. My boyfriend and I have started going to the rec center every morning before the sun comes up for the past 3 days. So normally I just drink coffee on the way there and then forget to journal later. Which is why I haven't written in a few days, which I guess is how my journal got lost.
Anyways... If I had to compare typing out my thoughts here in a blog setting vs writing in my journal, I'd say that I prefer to journal. Just because with blogging, there is a slight chance that someone might read my words so I'm a little bit more conscientious about what I'm writing. Not really, but kind of. There are for sure somethings that I'd know that I'd never post online. Maybe one day but not now. With journaling, however, I can pretty much say whatever the hell I want because I'm the only one who'll ever see it. So It's more fluid. Hopefully it turns up somewhere.
So other than getting my ass whooped in basketball at the rec center. I've also been listening to a new podcast called Bad As A Mother. I like it. Two girls from my town being open as hell about their struggles as mothers and women. I'm also so excited about the new season of Handmaid's Tale. I haven't started it yet, but I was just made aware by my sister that I had started so I'll dive into that soon.
Other than that, just working and mommying. The balancing act of the century. It's a struggle for sure. It's hard to find the balance between being a mom, working, being a girlfriend , and also taking care of myself and my desires. Unfortunately, some of the these relationships tend to get neglected, and those are mainly the relationship with my partner and the one with myself. I always feel like I could be better as a mom, but in this juggling act it IS the priority. Work, obviously gets a lot of my attention out of obligation and a girl gotta get paid. but, I know my relationship with my partner doesn't get the attention it deserves which is why I'm glad we now have these early morning workout sessions where we can chat and coexist in peace without kids jabbering. The self-care department has been slipping through the cracks majorly though. I don't mean self care as in pampering myself, but just doing things that I find pleasure in. I'd love to get out more and take more pictures. I've really found a love for photographing things and playing around with the lighting and shadows and scenery and such. Not trying to be a full blown photographer, but just devote more time to that hobby. Also, writing. Letting go isn't as easy as it seems, especially when my mind is moving miles a minute. I'd love it to just flow but I just got to catch the waves as they come and go along for the ride. Ride it with my surf board.
