Growing Up

Do you ever feel like you're an old woman and what you're experiencing right now is only a memory? I feel that way sometimes. I think back to when I was a kid and I have these very vivid memories of certain experiences and I look down at my hands and realize that it is these hands that experienced those things. If that makes sense. Like I feel like I'm simultaneously experiencing all of it. There is no distinction between then and now its just me, a feeling. It's like one day I was that and now I am this. Life's really complicated, but also really simple at the same time. I don't think it's meant to be understood, which makes it simple, but the desire to know why makes it hard. When you're young you think that once you grow up you'll have all of the answers, but the older I get and the more that I know, the more I realize how much I don't know. It's like the more answers you get, the more questions that you have. When you're a chid, you accept the fact that you don't know it all. You are constantly searching and exploring. Adults like to pretend like they know it all. When in fact, they don't know jack. We don't know jack.
