April 9: April Blogging Challange
What does your self-care routine look like? What are you favorite ways to pamper yourself?
Going to get to this tonight when my kids go to sleep
I obviously didn't get to this last night, but hey that's okay. That's why this is a challange. I tend to like to put things off until the last minute which turned into me falling asleep while nursing two kids to sleep, so I decided to try and get this done early today. Be a little out of character, change up my habits. I'm currently chugging coffee. One of my kids is awake sitting next to me and the other two are still sleeping. It's Phoenix, he's awake. I swear if he senses me getting out of bed, he'll get up too, so here we are. Luckily my other two kids are the hardest sleepers, nothing, seriously nothing can wake them up.
My Self-care routine is shitty , like super shitty, like non-existent. It's not that I don't take care of myself, but I for sure don't devote nearly enough time to self-care as I would like and I for sure don't do it everyday. My self-care routine definitely involves writing. I think when we think of self-care we think of beauty or bathing, but when I think of self-care it would involve doing things that nourish my mind body and soul and help to alleviate any stress or uneasiness I've been feeling. Taking a nice hot bath is nice but I honestly can't remember the last time I've taken a bath.
Ideally If I set aside some me time everyday I would do some kind of physical activity. I'd walk or jog or do yoga or bike while listening to some music. Music is God. ( music I'm loving) I would also write. Not write anything in particular, but I'm one of those people who keeps a lot inside and writing seems to be the best way for me to get my thoughts out and let it all flow. I'd do my nails because I love to have my nails painted just never get a chance to do it. I'd also like to try and meditate more often, just enjoy the stillness of my mind. I'd also love to just set and lather myself with shea butter from head to toe because yeah that sounds fun.
