The glam completley left my life when I started having kids. Of course every mom dreams of being the super hot milf mom, but for most, like myself it isn't a true reality. I have to get completley ready from start to finish in the time it takes to watch an episode of Paw Patrol. That's right, I have approximately 14ish minutes to complete my routine. So I have it downed to the most minimal of minimal. Showering consists of washing my body and conditioning my hair. Then I brush my teeth, get dressed, lotion, and let my hair air dry (phew) Then somebody needs me.

Ten years ago, you could have never caught me in public, bare faced, with my natural hair. I would never let anyone see me without my hair straightened. I spent a good 3 hours a week washing and straightening my hair and I wore extensions so I would also have to wash and straighten those too. Then, every morning to get ready it took me another 30-45 min to restraighten my already straightened hair and clip in all of my extensions. Im getting tired just thinking about all I had to do to feel "ready" back in the day.

Society has put this extreme pressure on women to look a certain way in order to feel presentable. We spend so much money and time to cover up our imperfections to look like someone else's idea of beauty.

It wasn't until I had kids that I started to feel truly comfortable in my skin. Kids are the realest of the real. They will tell you straight up how it is. I came to realize that no matter how I looked, my kids always look at me the exact same way. They never tell me I look tired when I decide not to wear makeup. They always just see me, their mom, in all my naturalness and they still love me and treat me like a queen.
