EVOL VE
I'm sitting here with two of my most favorite people, my son, Sebastian and my boyfriend. My son is on my phone watching Teletubbies and, as he does, and my boyfriend is watching a WWII documentary, as he does. As we sit here all cuddled up on the couch, my boyfriend turned to me and says, "Isn't it crazy how had your grandpa not made it out of Vietnam, your mom wouldn't be here, you wouldn't be here and our son would not be here. Just one event would have changed everything." A pretty morbid thought, but is it not insane that one little choice or action can altar everything.
I didn't think too much of it as I was trying to think of what I was going to blog about tonight, I hopped over to SometimesSweet Blog, because reading often sparks my writing gages, and the first post I read she discussed this very thing. How all of her life choices and experiences led her to this very moment in time. Crazy coincidence right?
And I just began to think about my younger self and everything I wanted. I played and imagined what my life would be like when I was 20 or 25 or 30. Now, here I am today with the 2 most beautiful and awesome kids that anyone could ask for. A boyfriend who inspires me and supports me so much, and I am so very thankful that my life experiences have brought these individuals into my life. This may not be what I envisioned when I was a little girl, but I can't imagine anything better.
I sit here as me today and a combination of all of the people I have been. I'm constantly evolving but the little girl who loved to sing and dance and make films to entertain everyone is still in me. Becoming a mom definitely changed me more than anything else. I had to grow and learn so much in such a short period of time. Everyday Im still learning new things and discovering new depths within myself. I'm not sure if I believe everything happens for a reason but I do believe everything happens just the way it's supposed to.
